Summer Fun

This summer we are participating in Play Unplugged. It' a program that encourages kids to do things besides electronic stuff, and then they stop by local businesses to pick up "brag badges" as a reward.  Play unplugged has locations all over Utah and in parts of Idaho.  Some things include sports, swimming, making art, collecting rocks, trying something new and the list goes on.

Reese and Liam both participated in a free soccer camp.

And we brought a picture of our clay sculptures to Rhodes for a badge and a free cinnamon roll!

Making a fort was another activity.  The kids have done this one numerous times, but this one had a Hot Wheels track right through it.

July 4th

Here are some pictures from our Independence Day, which we traditionally do with Will's family - burgers and fireworks.  Also a water fight for the kids is becoming a tradition, too.

Liam's Birthday!

Today Liam turned 5.  Last Sunday we had cake with family, Today we measured Liam on our new measuring board. Liam got to pick out where we went for dinner (McDonald's with a playplace) where we opened some presents and then had a soccer game.

Here are some things about him:

Loves Taco Tuesday . Still loves to look at monster trucks on YouTube . Keeps holding on to his falling-apart owl blankie even though he has two newer blankies . much better at soccer than he was last year.  finished preschool at Prince of Peace Lutheran School and ready for kindergarten . dresses up in Star Wars costume and pretends to have light saber battles . got a two wheel bike for his birthday and loves to ride it . doesn't like bed time . super motivated to do chores when he can earn something he wants by doing them . makes up great names for his things, like teddy named Beebee and giraffe on a t-shirt named Toozie . loves to cuddle . likes to be read to . sometimes gets upset when he thinks he's not having enough fun . sleeps on the top bunk . getting better at drawing, currently draws a lot of Jedi . sensitive about his style (particular about what he wears, how his hair is done, and cool accessories like a flame belt or lanyard) . gets upset when doing something he thinks is hard . great imagination . wants to be a construction worker when he grows up .

Reese Haircut

Reese had been complaining about how her hair made her hot and she wanted a haircut.  I suspect that part of it was also that she thought shorter hair might equate to shorter grooming times in the morning, too.

But I think she looks pretty darn cute!

Reese last day of 1st Grade

This is a belated post.  Sorry.  But Reese did, in fact, have a last day of 1st grade.
