More Christmas stuff

Liam had a preschool Christmas program with singing and stuff.  It was adorable.

Liam being super excited to go to school. Mostly because after the program they did a gift exchange.

Liam did about 40% of the words and actions.

Santa came and he was so starstruck that he forgot what he wants for Christmas

Liam sometimes singing, sometimes daydreaming.

Liam's part of the ABC poem was "L is for Lamp that shines oh, so bright.  A welcome to those who pass in the night."  He could say it pretty well until he hit the microphone.

Reese had a Holiday party (it's not a Christmas party once you get to public school.  Which is fine, she has a rather diverse class.)  They made decorated picture frames for pictures of themselves and wrapped them up in hand-made wrapping paper:
I like the frame but I like the wrapping more.

Then Will had a Christmas party for kids at work.  They had balloon animals and a photo op. So we got some pictures:
At first he said "sword hat" and the balloon guy was gonna make him one before I made sure we clarified it was "sword AND hat".  The viking horns do look like they could be swords, though.

Reese got a pink monkey, and offered to share with with Liam when the hilt of his sword popped on the way home.  Sometimes she is the best big sister.

And just because, this is Peach.

Ward Christmas Party

I was the committee chair for our ward Christmas party planning.  The party went well.  Part of the activities was a photo op.  I set up some backgrounds and a ward member who is also a photographer took pictures. We haven't gotten the professional-grade ones back yet, but here are some that I took with my camera.

And I made snowman mashed potatoes for the Christmas buffet.

Reese's Christmas Poinsettia

December

Welp, it's not officially winter yet, but you wouldn't know it by the weather here.

After the first snow, the kids had to go outside and play.

I'm glad they did, but I need to get them some snow pants.

Liam continues to ask to go outside most days, and this day he decided to wade through waist deep drifts.

Red legs.  Snowpants- see what I mean?

Matchy matchy

Maxi skirts are all the rage right now, and when I saw these matching woman and girl size ones, I couldn't resist.  Reese wanted to match hair, shoes, necklaces.  We both wore white shirts, pink flowers in our hair, black shoes and something pink around our necks to church.  (Reese's necklace and my black shoes not pictured)

I loved matching my little girl!

Costumes

Happy Halloween!  We trick-or-treated at Will's work this year, and then came home for our church's trunk-or-treat.  We gave out candy, stickers and glow sticks.  It was a hit.  I made some cute pigs-on-a-blanket mummies that I found on Pinterest, and even though they were eaten before I could take a picture, I wanted to post the link because they were so cute.

Reese, my Angel.  I made her dress, but I couldn't imagine that when she put it on she would make the most beautiful angel I've ever seen!

I didn't make my little Captain America's costume, because I can't beat the store in sewing those muscles.  I couldn't get him to pose because he was upset that we finally cut him off the candy and "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" was on TV.

But this is a size 7-8 modified and improved to fit and be practical for his size 2t-3t body.
(For starters, I had to turn the bodysuit in to a shirt and pants, for those bathroom emergencies.  Why don't costume companies know about this?)

I made my own costume.  It turned out ok.  I got a few compliments on the makeup, though.

In case you can't tell, I'm a Day of the Dead-style skeleton.

Punkins

a couple weeks ago we went to Wheeler Farm to pick out pumpkins and do some fun things.  I forgot to bring the camera.  But yesterday we got around to painting the pumpkins.  Jason has been asking to paint them ever since we got them, and finally I found the window of time.
While Jason and Liam just colored their pumkins, Reese painted various Halloween baddies on hers.  A goblin, a witch, a ghost, a jack-o-lantern.  This girl's got talent.  Maybe I should have her do my pumpkin.
